Ticket terms
In short: your ticket is from the event organiser; AfroGems delivers it to your phone and keeps it up to date. Keep your QR code private, because the first scan at the door wins. For refunds or questions about the event, contact the organiser.
1. Who does what
Your ticket is issued by the organiser named on it. Your agreement to attend the event, including the price, entry rules, refunds and what happens if the event changes, is with the organiser. AfroGems, operated by Afro Gems Limited (England and Wales, company number 17537423), provides the technology that creates your pass, delivers it, sends you the organiser's updates and lets the organiser check it at the door.
2. Using your pass
- You can keep your ticket in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, as a PDF, or on its web page. They are all the same ticket.
- Removing a pass from your wallet does not cancel your ticket. You can add it again from the link you were sent.
- The organiser may change details on your pass (for example the start time or gate) and send you a notification. Wallet apps limit how often this can happen.
- If the organiser cancels or refunds your ticket, your pass will be updated or marked as no longer valid.
3. Keep your QR code private
Each ticket can be used to enter once. Anyone with a copy or screenshot of your QR code can try to use it, and the first person to have it scanned gets in. Don't post your ticket online or share it with people you don't trust. If you think your ticket has been copied, contact the organiser straight away.
4. Buying through AfroGems checkout
If you buy a ticket on an AfroGems checkout page, your payment is processed by Paystack or Flutterwave and goes to the organiser. We do not see or store your full card details. Refunds are decided and paid by the organiser under their refund policy and the law; contact them first, and contact us if you can't reach them.
5. Messages we send
We send your ticket and the organiser's updates about it by email, SMS, WhatsApp link or wallet notification. These messages are part of the service. We do not send you marketing.
6. Fair use
Please don't try to forge, alter or resell tickets in breach of the organiser's rules, interfere with the service, or use it to harass anyone. If you see a ticket that looks fake or misleading, use the "Report this ticket" link on the ticket page or contact us.
7. Our responsibility
We take reasonable care to deliver your ticket and keep it working. We are not responsible for the event itself, which is the organiser's responsibility, or for problems caused by Apple, Google, your mobile network or your phone. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights against the organiser.
8. Your data
See our privacy policy for how your data is used. You can ask us to delete it on our data deletion page.
